Velux Window Loft Conversion – Astley, Manchester
A two Velux Window Loft Conversion carried out in June 2020, In Astley, Manchester.
This was carried out during the months of May and June, however measurements and a quote were produced just prior to the Covid-19 Pandemic! However, following government guidelines we were able to proceed fairly soon after our customer had confirmed they would like to go ahead.
Step 1 – We stripped back the existing loft flooring, old insulation, old wiring and disposed of the waste.
Step 2 – We cleaned the loft meticulously and prepared the area, of the loft, and the, landing, bedroom and stairs directly below the soon to be loft staircase opening.
Step 3 – We cut out the opening for the double winder staircase. We then assembled our staircase to fit within the opening.
Step 4 – We proceeded with the first fix for the electrics and the radiators, located in the loft.
Step 5 – We began insulating the loft, floor and ceiling.
Step 6 – We lay the new Chipboard for the floor
Step 7 – We built the storage cupboards throughout the loft.
Step 8 – Plastering work was carried out.
Step 9 – Skirting boards and other joinery work was carried out.
Step 10 – Painting of the landing, stairs and room was completed
Step 11 – 2nd fix of electrics and plumbing completed.
Step 12 – Carpets were selected and fitted.
