Lisa asked us to carry out a rear garden transformation, something in which requires very little maintenance. This option of an artificial turf would also look healthy and vibrant throughout the years.

To begin with, we dug up and removed all of the old turf, then laying our 3″ x 2″ timber surrounds which act as the parameter for the new artificial grass. We then laid 9 tons of MOT and 4 tons of sand; this was then all levelled using a whacker plate. The garden was very swampy and retained a lot of water during wet spells. Therefore it was decided several inches of soil would be removed, replaced with 3 French drains, and substantially more MOT than would usually be used, in order to provide the garden with the drainage it needed.

We then moved the rolls of artificial grass in place and joined the three pieces expertly, with barely no visible evidence of the joins. This installation was completed over 4 days.
